New-parent guide
New to the team? Here's everything you need for match and training days. A few specifics are down to each coach — those are noted below. Nothing here should stop you getting ready.
How the season works
At U10, games are now single matches, 25 minutes each way (about 50 minutes of football) — not the paired games of previous years. There are roughly 14 games across the season, about fortnightly, and whether we're at home or away is set by the league and can be either from week to week.
Fixtures are added through the season rather than all at once, so new games appear here as they're scheduled — it's worth a check every couple of weeks.
What to buy
Your child needs boots (moulded studs for grass and 3G), shin pads (compulsory — no shin pads, no play), a water bottle, and warm layers for winter. The club provides match shirts; parents buy boots, shin pads, socks and shorts.
Your coach will confirm exact sock and short colours, and whether the club or parents supply them.
Team colours
Mosquitoes and Wasps both play in the club's TJFC colours.
Your coach will share the exact home and training colours, and where to buy them.
Arrival times
Arrive 30 minutes before kick-off for a warm-up, and 10–15 minutes before training so your child is ready to go.
Your coach may adjust these slightly for your team.
Parking
Park considerately at the ground. Please do not block residents' driveways or the pitch access.
Your coach will share parking details for each ground, including training at Tonbridge Boys School.
Wet-weather policy
If a session or fixture is off, it shows as Postponed or Cancelled on your team page — always check there first before setting off.
If a game or session is in doubt, your coach will message you directly too.
